Hard drives, SSDs, RAID and memory cards — recovered for Aberdeen, the North-East and across Scotland.
A hard drive that started clicking. An SSD that disappeared from the system overnight. A RAID that went down in the middle of rebuilding. A memory card that was blank where the photographs had been. This all happens here normally, and most of it comes back. Enquiring doesn't cost anything. The fee is fixed in writing prior to opening a case.
Nearly all jobs take the same route. You get a quote first, before posting the drive in or dropping it off at our Edinburgh lab (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, no appointment needed). We will tell you how much of it can be recovered and what the price is. Decide in your own time. There are no costs for obtaining that answer either way.
Get a free diagnostic assessment and a firm price. Only one quoted amount, agreed in writing prior to starting. All bands are described on our data recovery costs page.
Here, all devices receive the same bench hours whether they are a single broken flash drive or a large SAN (storage area network) with forty drives. Diagnosis comes first, then one service that can deal with lost, corrupted and completely dead storage media (both hard disk drives and solid state disks). Choose from the options below, or phone and simply describe your device in plain English. Your conversation will be with actual data recovery specialists, not someone reading from a pre-written script.

Contact us on 0800 689 0668, or use our free online diagnostic, to get a quote first. We don't mind plain language either. Nobody is testing your jargon.
Once you have the quote, tracked, insured post will reach the laboratory the next working day. Alternatively, you may drive it down and drop it off in person: 130 miles via the A90 (about two and a half hours), Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with no appointment needed.
Your device will be on the bench for two working days. Then you receive a clear description of what was found wrong, the honest odds and finally one fixed price.
If you ask, all of your recovered data will return to you on encrypted media.
Get a quote first by telephone or use our free online diagnostic. Most of what you see on this bench will then be delivered via tracked, insured post. This is one of the safest ways to move a failing drive and packages handed in at a North-East post office are normally delivered here the next working day.
Still attached to a laptop, desktop, MacBook, iMac, server or CCTV/DVR unit? Remove the hard drive or SSD first. The bare drive travels on its own; when removing disks from a server remove all the disks and label each disk by its bay. This lab does not take machines apart. Any storage that has been soldered onto a motherboard (as in T2 and Apple Silicon Macs and a couple of thin laptops) will not be worked on: if it will not unbolt, we cannot work on it. If you're not sure what type of machine you have, ring us first. Phones and tablets are also not taken on.

Your parcel should be addressed to Edinburgh Data Recovery, approximately two and a half hours (and 130 miles) from Aberdeen via the A90; alternatively it can reach us the next working day by tracked post if this journey time / distance is prohibitive to travel. As soon as your drive has been scheduled in we will contact you.
Still unsure about what should be placed inside of the packaging? Please call us first on 0800 689 0668, or use our free online diagnostic tool to assist you in deciding which items belong inside of the packaging before sealing.
"Portable Seagate off the worktop onto a tiled floor, eleven years of photographs on it. Clicking away when it went in the post on the Monday. By Thursday they had told me the lot was coming back. No fuss and no sales patter."
Alexia C · Portlethen"Our practice server dropped a second disk during a rebuild and the IT company stopped returning calls. All four drives were copied and nine years of records handed back. Straight answers from the first call onwards."
Blair M · Inverness"USB stick snapped off inside the laptop with my dissertation on it. Sensible answers on the phone, connector rebuilt, everything back on a new stick with photos of the work. Cost exactly what they quoted."
Stevie H · WesthillFrom the city all the way out to Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Elgin, Inverurie, Stonehaven and Montrose, this is the data recovery Aberdeen people and companies come back to, and the hard drive recovery Aberdeen offices phone when a server stops. First get a quote: almost everything then moves by tracked next-day post, or is dropped off at our Edinburgh lab (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, no appointment needed), so data recovery Scotland wide is the same service at the same price, regardless of whether your package starts in Inverness, Elgin or Montrose. It runs UK wide as well: drives posted from Cornwall or Cumbria receive the exact same treatment as ones from Dyce. Business at a complete halt? There is a simple guide to disaster recovery for Aberdeen businesses on our blog.
You receive a free diagnosis, one fixed price quote in writing afterwards, and in most cases you only pay if we recover your data.
